IGNOU Extends Assignment Submission Date for December 2025 Term-End Exam
IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) has officially announced the extension of the last date for assignment submission for the December 2025 Term-End Examination (TEE). Students who were waiting eagerly for this notification can now relax — the university has extended the deadline up to 20 November 2025.
This decision brings great relief to thousands of learners who were struggling to prepare or submit their assignments on time. The extension applies to both hard copies and soft copies of assignments.
Official Notification Released by IGNOU
The official notification, signed by Assistant Registrar Kritna Nirwan, confirms the new submission deadline. The document, now available on IGNOU’s official Twitter handle, clearly states the “Extension of Last Date for Submission of Assignments up to 20 November 2025.”
IGNOU has also directed all regional and study centres to reopen their submission portals that had been previously closed. Several regional centres, including RC Delhi 1, Delhi 3, and Ranchi, have already uploaded the notice on their official social media platforms.
Why the IGNOU Assignment Date Extension 2025 is Important
Relief for Students Awaiting the Notice
The release of this notification was long-awaited. Many students and content creators had been requesting the extension through various channels, including direct communication with IGNOU officials. The delay in releasing the notice caused considerable anxiety among learners.
However, the IGNOU HelpLine team and several YouTubers actively pursued the case with the Registrar and Vice-Chancellor, ensuring that the concerns of students were brought to the competent authorities. Thanks to these efforts, IGNOU finally released the update that students had been eagerly anticipating.
Opportunity to Complete Pending Assignments
Students who have not yet completed their assignments now have a final opportunity to prepare and submit them. With the new deadline set for 20 November 2025, there are no further extensions expected. Therefore, students are advised not to delay and submit their assignments well before the due date.
How to Submit IGNOU Assignments Before the Deadline
Offline Submission at Study Centres
Students who prefer the offline method can visit their respective study centres and submit the handwritten assignments. IGNOU has clarified that all study centres that were earlier refusing submissions will now accept assignments again.
If your study centre had closed the submission process earlier, don’t worry — IGNOU’s latest order ensures that all centres reopen submission counters.
Online Submission Through Google Forms
Many regional centres are accepting soft copies of assignments through Google Forms. For example, Delhi 3 Regional Centre has reopened its Google Form link for online submission. Students should check their regional centre’s website or Twitter page to find the correct submission link and instructions.
When submitting online, ensure that:
- Your files are properly named with your enrolment number, course code, and subject name.
- You attach a scanned copy of your handwritten assignment (PDF format).
- You receive the acknowledgment confirmation after submission.
How to Prepare IGNOU Assignments Quickly and Accurately
Order Handwritten Assignments from Trusted Sources
Since time is short, students who haven’t yet started writing can contact the IGNOU HelpLine team via WhatsApp at 8100323239. They can help you with handwritten assignments that are accepted by IGNOU study centres.
You can also order soft copies of handwritten assignments (in PDF format) if you plan to submit them online. This ensures that you meet the format and handwriting requirements that IGNOU insists upon.

Purchase Solved Assignment PDFs and Write on Your Own
If you prefer to write your assignments yourself, you can buy solved PDF copies of IGNOU assignments and then copy them neatly by hand. This is a faster, safer option than starting from scratch — but make sure to write in your own handwriting to avoid rejection.
Avoid Delays — Start Immediately
While the date has been extended to 20 November, students should not assume that there’s plenty of time. Preparing and submitting assignments can take several days, especially if you are submitting offline. It’s advisable to complete and submit your work within the next 2–3 days.
