JEE Advanced 2025 Syllabus Subject-Wise Details

 What is JEE Advanced?

JEE Advanced is one of the toughest entrance exams in India, but also the most rewarding, because it gives you the chance to study in an IIT.

It is conducted by one of the IITs (this year, by the 7 Zonal Coordinating IITs) under the Joint Admission Board (JAB).

 Subjects in JEE Advanced:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics

It follows mostly the topics from Class 11 and 12, but the questions are much deeper, and test your understanding, logic, and problem-solving, not just memory.

 Physics

Physics is where concepts and calculations meet. Some chapters are tough,  but once you understand them, they become fun.

  • Electrochemistry

 Organic Chemistry (Reactions + Reasoning)

  • Basics: IUPAC names, types of isomerism
  • Reaction types: Substitution, addition, elimination
  • Functional groups:
    • Alcohols
    • Aldehydes & Ketones
    • Carboxylic acids
    • Amines

If you want to become an architect (join B.Arch in IIT), you must give AAT after JEE Advanced.
